  1. Thanks for showing different ways to pay off your mortgage and reducing the interest you pay. Glad that you talked a bit about Velocity banking at the end (using the LOC), you should also mention that even though the interest rate would be higher on a LOC than your mortgage, you can save thousands because of the way the mortgage interest is calculated vs interest on the LOC.

  2. Love the sound of these strategies!!! Here's my Question: We've got a 15 year mortgage (comparatively small) and could easily pay extra to pay it off in 8 years. (We're motivated enough now that I think we could do it in even less.) BUT, I see what you're saying about investing our money (and getting maybe 10% returns) vs. paying the mortgage off early (at 4.5% APR)… My problem is I feel so much less motivated to be more frugal just to invest more, and I'm SO motivated to pay off the debt. The mortgage has a specific goal and an end date and rewards (paying much less in interest in the long run). Financially, it a bonehead move to put very little towards retirement just to stay intense about paying off the house?

  3. We are looking into paying our first house asap. The idea of paying the principal of next month this month caught my attention… where can I look into it in depth? Can it be done a years worth in one payment. Like i have some extra money ( say i wont in the lottery, which i havent) can i do it and have the same effect?
